this included setting up the chairs, aisle decorations and table for our water ceremony outside under the big pretty tree.
inside the lodge, we had sheer fabric hung from the rafters. the tables had white tablecloths with pink and green accents and either a grouping of wine bottle vases with floating corks and candles or wine cork picture frames with pictures of austin and me.
after things were set up perfectly, it was time to get beautified. and apparently that requires lots of mascara.
down where the boys were getting ready, there was less makeup to be found. and i think we can all agree that's a good thing,
after we were all made up and pretty {except we all know that my friends are already pretty, so it doesn't take much} it was time for the dress.
when it came to choosing my dress i basically had two very general requirements. no poof. and real buttons. i think poof would have overwhelmed me and been a lot of effort. and as for real buttons, yeah i don't know. but it was a must.
you know how it goes, every bride is supposed to have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. why? i don't know. but you must. so i did.
something old: the strand of pearls austin gave me for christmas a few years back. something new: my dress. duh. something borrowed: my sweet bridesmaids surprised me with letting me borrow their alpha delta pi pins to carry on my bouquet. something blue: the shoes lindsy and i searched everywhere for. literally. everywhere.
and then we were ready to get married!
but first, a few pictures with our wedding party people.
and then it was time. for real. and because i'm extra special, i got to have two people walk me down the aisle. my daddy on my right and my timmy on my left. i'm lucky that way.
after some ceremony talk, austin and i did something a little bit different than the unity candle or the sand ceremony you see at weddings, but it was the same concept. thanks to my momma, the genius scientist, austin and i each had a vase of green colored water. when these two combined together in to one vase, the green water turned to pink. see the symbolism there? yeah? good. and obviously our colors were green and pink.
then came the rings.
and most importantly, sealed with a kiss!
a few family and group shots....
and then... it was party time.
and i think austin and i are in this mosh pit somewhere...
after we were all danced out... and were probably close to getting kicked out of the building... it was time to be set on fire.
oh wait, i mean time to head to jamaica!
