so it's been over a week since i last posted, but as i'm sure most of you know, we had intensly severe weather around the region. i don't know the exact count of how many tornadoes touched down on april 27, but there were around twenty in our area and over 200 in the southeast.

and you can't imagine the destruction we've seen. sure, i've seen damage from natural disasters on tv, but never in person and never where i could say "i know that building/neighborhood/etc." and it takes your breath away. so many people have lost their homes, their businesses and over 300 people lost their lives. needless to say, i'm thankful to be here.
i'm also thankful that my in-laws allowed me to escape my house that day to the safety of their home. austin was at work, our power was out and more severe storms were headed our way. so i packed up the animals {yes, even guinevere} and quickly evacuated up to the heard's house, where they at least had power so we could know when we needed to seek shelter because another tornado was on the way.
things are slowly coming around, though. the community has really come together to help those who've been affected by donating time, clothing, food, even blood as the blood bank was desperately low.
i guess all i can say is count your blessings, because everything can change in one single instant.
I'm glad you're safe and sound, my sweet girl! I love you!
