even though i was about a month behind on my halloween post, i'm already prepared to share a thanksgiving post with you. keeping you on your toes, i guess.
austin and i started thursday by doing our usual thing of taking pictures for our christmas cards. i'm hoping by this point you've noticed the blog {and even my facebook} got a nice little update and i used some of the pictures we took for our card. but we actually got quite a few good ones, at least i think so.
and then, of course, we brought out the guns. literally. cause that's what people do on thanksgiving, right? actually this was the first time i ever shot a gun. and turns out i'm a pretty good shot. #scary
after photoshooting and gun shooting, we got to the main part of thanksgiving: the food. we had the usual thanksgiving menu items. and after a slight miscalculation on turkey frying time, i was thankful for my tofurkey as everyone else got to debate the edible-ness of the bird. this year i really stepped it up with my contribution to the meal by bringing tofurkey, macaroni and cheese, homemade bread, and french silk chocolate pie. and if i may so so myself, my food was delicious. but i might be a bit biased.
but since austin was really craving some turkey we decided to have a little thanksgiving do-over on our own. i was pumped to be able to set our table with the cute wooden turkeys we made this year.
and i even made us little place cards with pumpkins. austin made fun of me. jerk.
and even though i said it was a "little" do-over, we still had tons of food. turkey {for him}, potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffing, mac and cheese, and bread. too much food, actually.
so anyway. i hope you all had a fabulous thanksgiving with your families/friends/whomever. i'm thankful for all of you. :) also, i missed my family very much and i can't wait to see you all for christmas!

regarding november.
according to mypictures folder, i took over 100 pictures in november. and i've shared approximately eight of them.
let's just blame it on school/being busy/being lazy. take your pick.
so i will share them now. but not all 100. not even close. trust me, they aren't that interesting.
let me start with a collage of my fall/thanksgiving decorations.
also, you should meet gepetto.
i found him a few weeks ago.
and i had to bring him home to live with me.
against austin's wishes.
and you might think he is an animal.
and you would be right.
{i'm basically just wasting space and building suspense here, people}
gepetto is my new hedgehog. and i love him. and his little beady eyes are piercing, no?
{i'm dumb. and easily amused. i know. you probably already knew, too. if not, then, surprise!}
and on a non-hedgehog related note, austin and i spent an evening a few weeks ago up at his parents' house for a family cookout/gathering {i stole these pictures from a family member on facebook}.
my favorite part of this picture is ozzy, bottom left {the only big puppy in the picture}, who tried his best to get in the picture, but he just didn't show us his good side...
and then, here's me and austin, being our awkward selves, as usual.
we look like we don't even know/like each other. it's funny.
so that's november in pictures. we also had a huuuge thanksgiving gathering with austin's family, but we all know how i am a loser and never get pictures of the important things. instead i just take pictures of the dog and the cats. but we did, in fact, have thanksgiving dinner. and there were about 20-30 people involved. it was big.
also, know that i severely missed my side of the family over the holiday, but i hope they all had a good time gathering. and that they thought about me the whole entire time. and that they saved me some pecan rolls.
so. yeah. that was november.

chocolate pie for breakfast.
this was my breakfast this morning. french silk chocolate pie. and it was a. maz. ing. i had planned on making pie to take up to austin's parents' house for thanksgiving, but for a couple of reasons that didn't happen. so when we got home from the thanksgiving festivities at 8 or so last night, i made myself a pie. and i plan to eat the whole entire thing myself.
speaking of thanksgiving festivities, like i said we went up to steve and gloria's house. austin made some macaroni and cheese, some rolls and some kind of {what i would say was really nasty} dip. gloria had prepared a turkey {of course}, stuffing, green beans, turnips, greens and cranberry sauce. austin had a little bit of everything, but i just had mac and cheese, stuffing {a special meat-free dish for me} cranberry sauce and some rolls.
since austin and i are planning to send out holiday cards, we decided to dress nice and try to get a few pictures while we were up there. here are some of my favorites.
we kind of had to finish up in a rush, we had some visitors who wanted to eat my camera {and maybe us}.
when we got back to our house, i made pie, austin drank egg nog {straight out of the carton} and julie boo slept. pretty standard around here.
pecan rolls! sent from momma and timmy back home! best thanksgiving present ever.
needless to say, pie and pecan rolls are all i've eaten today.
